Culture Management Group (CMG) Gospel, in partnership with Faith Collective, has announced a critical venue change for the Accra stop of the Kingdom World Tour featuring Grammy award-winning artist Kirk Franklin and Maverick City. Originally scheduled to take place at ICGC Christ Temple East on Teshie Rasta Road, the event has been relocated to First Love Center in Accra due to unforeseen circumstances.

According to Culture Management Groups press release | Just 24 hours before showtime, the management of ICGC Christ Temple East unexpectedly increased the venue rental price by over 80%, causing significant disruptions. “We are shocked and deeply disappointed by this change in plans by the management of ICGC Christ Temple East. This sudden increase in cost has caused unnecessary complications for all involved,” stated a representative from CMG Gospel.

The recent venue change for the Kirk Franklin & Maverick City concert in Accra has stirred conversations, particularly around the circumstances at Christ Temple East (CTE). According to other sources, the organizers initially requested the use of the outdoor arena and were provided with the associated costs. However, just days before the event, the organizers reportedly decided they wanted to use the indoor hall instead, but at the same price as the outdoor arena. Additionally, they requested full control over CTE’s equipment. CTE did not agree to this arrangement, insisting that their own staff should manage the equipment

In response to this situation, CMG swiftly secured a new location to avoid any further delays. The event will now be held at First Love Center in Accra, with the show scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 18th, at 5PM
