The inaugural edition of the EMY Africa Expo took place in Accra, Ghana, over the weekend at the Accra International Conference Centre. The Expo, which was the first of its kind, had over 80 exhibiting firms showcasing products ranging from fashion, art, culture, and beauty to a host of other categories. Some of the brands that were there included Caveman Watches, Cacao Clothing, Alt and Quinn, Brielle Cosmetics, Slash Beauty, and many others. It was a three-day celebration, with the first day being the launch of the Expo. The second day featured the BlacVolta sound system, with amazing performances from Ghanaian superstar Kidi. The third day was a fashion show that blew the minds of everyone who attended, with over 15 fashion designers showcasing their pieces on the runway. This was an amazing inaugural event, and in speaking with the Black Volta team, CEO of EMY Africa Kojo Soboh expressed that it had been tough but he was amazed at the turnout, with over 5,000 people attending the event over the three days.
