Today, we made a discovery. A Ghanaian startup, Wahu, has launched electric bikes in Accra, Ghana. The firm, led by a female entrepreneur, builds, assembles, and services electric bikes locally. The bikes can travel up to 150 km on a full charge and can reach a maximum speed of 35 km per hour. In a city where traffic has become a burden for many, this is a great addition to the transportation network. The fact that the bikes run on electricity also marks them as a sustainable option. We hope more initiatives by young Ghanaian entrepreneurs will be encouraged. The starting price is from $1800 upwards.
