Employment Ministry and YEA Launch ‘Work Abroad Programme’ to Expand Job Prospects for Ghanaian Youth

The Ministry of Labour, Jobs & Employment, in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and GIZ Ghana, has officially launched the ‘Work Abroad Programme,’ a transformative initiative aimed at providing young Ghanaians with international job opportunities
The programme seeks to address youth unemployment by equipping skilled individuals with the necessary resources, guidance, and support to secure employment in various industries abroad.

Speaking at the launch, officials highlighted the programme’s role in providing participants with valuable international experience, enhancing their career prospects while contributing to Ghana’s economic development
This initiative is about creating opportunities, building brighter futures, and ensuring that our young people can thrive both locally and internationally,” said YEA CEO Malik Basinta

The government has assured its commitment to supporting participants throughout the process, reinforcing its vision of empowering youth and fostering economic growth through global exposure. The launch event featured dynamic discussions and insightful speeches from key stakeholders, including government representatives, international organizations, and private sector leaders, who outlined the programme’s implementation and expected impact.

With the support of GIZ Ghana, the initiative will leverage global networks to enhance employment facilitation and streamline opportunities for Ghanaian youth seeking overseas work experience.
